How does the word counter calculate words?
It trims the text and counts groups separated by whitespace. This works well for most English drafts, articles, and web content.
Does the character count include spaces?
Yes. The Characters metric includes spaces and punctuation. The No Spaces metric removes whitespace before counting.
How is reading time estimated?
Reading time is estimated from the word count using about 200 words per minute.
Is my text stored?
